The ceremony, held at 9am at the pavilion housing the Queen Mother’s portrait in the Domestic Terminal departure hall, was led by Airport General Manager Monchai Tanode.

Senior airport officials joined the event, including Deputy Director of Airport Operations Thuanchai Tansuriyawong; Uthai Siri, Specialist 9 and Acting Deputy Director of Airport Support; Capt Sanit Chongrak of the Royal Thai Navy’s Special Flight Squadron; and Warunee Traiboonchan, President of the Phuket Airport Aviation Business Group. Executives and staff from across the airport also attended.

Upon his arrival, Mr Montchai took his position before the portrait and led all participants in paying respects. The chairman prostrated, with male and female participants bowing. A minute of silence was then observed before Mr Monchai recited the formal oath of allegiance to the nation, religion and monarchy.

Participants later stepped forward to pay their respects individually and sign their names in order. The ceremony concluded at 9:30am.

Airports of Thailand Phuket branch (AoT Phuket) in its formal announcement noted that the event reaffirmed unity among personnel and demonstrated their collective loyalty to the monarchy.
