Local authorities reported no casualties or injuries, and officials have been dispatched to assess the damage and assist affected residents, reports state news agency NNT.

The Southern Meteorological Center has issued a warning for heavy rains and strong winds in the region, with stormy weather expected to continue until Thursday (Sep 19). The provinces of Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun are forecast to experience heavy downpours, raising concerns about flash floods and runoff.

Residents in these areas have been urged to stay alert for possible flooding, while the meteorological authorities have advised caution as strong waves are expected along the Andaman coast, said the report.

The centre also warned of waves reaching up to four metres in the Andaman Sea, advising ships, especially small boats, to remain ashore until conditions improve.
