The event in Patong, to be held Aug 2-4, is to highlight “nightlife fun in Patong City” with colours from neon lights reflected on the sea surface at night, Chai Watcharong, Spokesman of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced earlier this week.
The launch of the Amazing Beach Life Festival, described as “a dynamic blend of music, sports, and art set to invigorate Thai tourism”, aims to stimulate travel during the tourism low season. or ‘Green Season’, Mr Chai explained
The festival will be held at four beach locations: Rayong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Songkhla, with the events to be held from 4pm to 10:30pm, each night of each respective province’s editions.
Rayong got its ‘Tropical Beach’ festival at Laem Charoen Beach underway yesterday (July 12). The festival, to continue through tomorrow (July 14), is to highlight “Bright colours, Rayong food city, and Eastern fruit sources.”
Phang Nga will host the second edition of the festival at Memories Beach in Khao Lak from July 26-28 under the theme ‘Beach Rhythms’.
The final edition of the festival will be held at Chalatat Beach in Songkhla on Aug 9-11 under the theme ‘Art Paradise’, highlighting “Old city atmosphere transformed into a colorful art paradise”.
The Amazing Beach Life Festival is part of a broader strategy to elevate Thailand as a world-class tourist destination, Mr Chai said.
Set for 2025, the ‘Thailand Grand Tourism Year’ aims to attract environmentally conscious, high-potential tourist groups and generate income for local businesses and coastal communities during the tourism low season, he added.
Key initiatives under the ‘Thailand Grand Tourism Year’ include:
- Grand Festival: Hosting large-scale events throughout the year to draw tourists and facilitate travel.
- Grand Exclusive Experience: Offering special experiences and privileges such as exclusive shopping, tour packages, and airfare deals.
- Grand Invitation: Inviting world-renowned figures to travel to Thailand and share their experiences.
- Grand Opening Celebration: Officially launching the Thailand Grand Tourism Year at ITB Berlin 2025, the world’s largest tourism promotion event, scheduled for March 4-6, 2025, in Berlin, Germany.
