Patong Municipality announced yesterday that the section of road will be closed (see map below) from 9am to 4pm each day until the work is completed,

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes and plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays.

Patong Municipality in its announcement apologised for any inconvenience caused and urged the public to cooperate during the repair period.

The road resurfacing comes just weeks before the annual events to remember the visit of King Bhumibol (Rama 9), who according to records kept by Patong Municipality arrived in Patong unannounced on March 11, 1959.

The Ratchapatanusorn, otherwise known locally as the ‘Monument to The King’s Footprint’, was built to commemorate the event.
