The first arrest took place on Sunday (Sept 21) when officers arrested a 37-year-old man in front of a rented room on Nanai Rd.
Led by Investigation Inspector Lt Col Saran Chaiwut, the team found 51 ya bah pills and 0.11 grammes of crystal meth (ya ice) in the man’s possession. The suspect was taken to Patong Police Station and charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic without permission.
A second team led by Lt Col Saran and Deputy Inspector Lt Col Sermsuk Phon-yong yesterday (Sept 22) arrested a 30-year-old man on the roadside inside the entrance alley to a main resort on Thaweewong Rd.
Officers seized 47 ya bah pills, a Noringo 9mm semi-automatic pistol, one magazine, eight rounds of 9mm Luger ammunition and a black leather concealed-carry holster.
The suspect was charged with possession of a Category 1 narcotic, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a permit, and carrying a firearm in a public area without permission or reasonable cause.
Both suspects and all seized items were taken to Patong Police Station as investigators proceed with legal action.
