At around 1:30pm on Thursday (Mar 28), an Australian tourist informed the Patong Police Station that he had lost his iPhone somewhere in the city.

As the man could not provide any meaningful clues, Patong Police officers checked the mobile phone’s signal and found the device was still operational. The officers then determined the location of the phone, which was “in front of house number 158/45 on Nanai Rd in Patong.”

Patong Police officers traveled to the said location with the tourist and recovered the device.

According to the report by Patong Police, the tourist was actually their colleague from Australia. A selfie taken in front of Patong Police Station shows the man smiling at the camera while holding his detective’s badge and ID issued in the name of Luke Shore.

According to the ID, Mr Shore is a member of the Victoria Police Force, holding the rank of a Sergeant, an equivalent of Sip Tamruat Ek in the Royal Thai Police.
