Suratthani FC are the draw specialists of the league and are only just above PAFC in 8th position in the table. Even a win wouldn’t see them climb much higher in the table.

Coached by Yai Nilwong, ‘The Killer Arowanas’ as they are nicknamed are unbeaten in their last eight games. Every club’s nickname in this league seems to be ‘Killer’ something or other. Arowanas are a long, bony sort of fish, and from our research to date, have never killed anyone bar posing a choking hazard.

What to Expect:

Key defender Mark is suspended for this game for PAFC after accumulating five yellow cards. His absence will be a concern, as he is a significant presence at both ends of the pitch, being their second-highest goal scorer. Based on recent form PAFC will likely be happy with a draw.

About Surat Thani:

Surat Thani City is situated on the Gulf of Thailand, approximately 3.5 hours away from Phuket. For many, it is considered the gateway to the south, with easy access to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan from its train station. Most people see the city as just a stopping point on the way to the islands, but like most provincial cities, it has a lot to offer, with its night market and temples.

PAFC News:

As alluded to, defender Mark will miss this game due to suspension. Right-back Keng, who was suspended for the last game, is likely to return in his place. This will more than likely lead to the club switching back to a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Outlook:

We are hopeful that PAFC will rally and grab a draw in this last game of the year. However Surat Thani will be keen to end the year on a high in front of their home fans, so PAFC can expect a tough match.

Keep an eye on the midfield battle. Surat Thani will look to control possession and use their home advantage, while PAFC will aim to disrupt their rhythm and hit them on the counter-attack.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw

Location: Prince Songkla Suratthani Stadium, Surat Thani, Kick-off 3:30pm. Tickets: B100 (concessions B80).
