The modern Order of Saint Stanislaus is an international chivalric order with a history rooted in a historical Polish and Russian order.

The delegation was welcomed at Phuket Provincial Hall by Phuket Vice Governor Adul Chuthong, joined by Sukanda Phokaew, Director of Phuket Social Development and Human Security, and Kanita Sappaisan, Head of the Phuket Passport Office, which is operated by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visiting group was led by Sopida Chanwichai, Ambassador of the Order of Saint Stanislas in Thailand, and included Baron Dr Alexander Graff de Pancsova, Grand Chancellor of the Order; Baron Josef von Ritter zu Gronestein; Baroness Elisabeth Graff de Pancsova; Wolfgang Sax; and Robert Spevak, President of the Deutschmeister.

Talks focused on expanding cooperation in social assistance programmes in Phuket, with particular interest in supporting housing construction projects for the underprivileged and other initiatives aimed at improving residents’ quality of life.

Vice Governor Adul noted that while Phuket continues to grow as a leading global tourism destination, long-standing challenges such as housing shortages and traffic congestion still require coordinated solutions.

He said the province welcomes collaboration with international organisations to help create a safer and more liveable environment for both tourists and local communities.

The Vice Governor also shared aspects of Phuket’s culture and history with the delegation to deepen mutual understanding and build stronger ties, said an official report of the visit.

The visit follows the recent establishment of the Order’s Priory of Thailand, marked by an investiture ceremony held in Bangkok on Nov 7. Nearly 60 members of the Order travelled from Europe for the occasion, part of a 14-day programme featuring cultural exchanges, charitable events and formal ceremonies.

The Order has said the founding of the Thailand Priory represents an important international step for the organisation, which has spent more than a year preparing for its expansion and coordinating with Thai officials.

Provincial officials described Thursday’s meeting as another positive step in fostering long-term cooperation with global partners committed to social development, particularly efforts to support disadvantaged communities in Phuket.
