The update was delivered during the meeting of the Phuket Provincial Disaster Relief Committee (PPD) and the Phuket Flood Victim Information Review Working Group at  Phuket Provincial Hall this week.

Vice Governor Adul Chuthong informed the committee of the Cabinet’s Oct 21 resolution approving the use of the 2026 central budget – through the Emergency or Necessary Reserve Fund – to support households impacted by flooding during the 2025 rainy season.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) is administering the budget, with funds being disbursed via the Government Savings Bank through the PromptPay system at a rate of B9,000 per household.

The meeting confirmed that 591 households across Phuket have so far received assistance amounting to B5,901,000. The affected households were located in Kathu District (446), Mueang Phuket District (139) and Thalang District (six).

Of these, the Government Savings Bank successfully transferred funds to 589 households, totalling B5,301,000.

Two households in Mueang Phuket District were unable to receive funds as they had not registered a PromptPay account linked to their 13-digit national ID number. Phuket officials have now resolved the error status and forwarded the information to Mueang Phuket District and Phuket City Municipality for system correction so the transfers can be completed.

The province also reported a second wave of affected households following the heavy rains of Oct 22-23. These additional cases include 15 households in Patong (Kathu District), as well as 206 households in Mueang Phuket District: 53 in Chalong, 88 in Rawai and 65 in Karon.

Provincial authorities stressed that all assistance is being delivered strictly in line with Cabinet resolutions. Monitoring of ongoing risk areas is continuing, and further support will be provided as necessary to alleviate hardship and ensure the safety of affected families across Phuket.
