DOLA Phuket’s Special Operations Unit, led by Akkara Suwatthikul, conducted a targeted anti-drug operation in the village, said an official report of the arrest.
Officers launched the raid after receiving intelligence that narcotics were being sold to teenagers and the general public in the area.
Following a coordinated inspection, officers successfully apprehended the suspect, not named in the report, and confiscated 480 methamphetamine pills (ya bah), 11.57 grammes (including packaging) of crystal meth (ya ice) along with B870 in cash.
During initial questioning, the man admitted to owning the drugs and preparing them for distribution, said the report.
As a result, he has been charged with selling Category 1 narcotics (crystal meth and methamphetamine) with intent to distribute without permission and with driving a motorbike under the influence of Category 1 narcotics.
Following the arrest, the suspect and the confiscated evidence were handed over to Chalong Police for further legal proceedings, the report concluded.
