According to PWA Phuket, scheduled electricity supply outages by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) will facilitate the installation of equipment that prevents reverse current flow and to integrate solar power systems.
The first outage, from 10pm on Sunday (Mar 23) to 2am on Monday (Mar 24), will affect areas in Phuket Town, Kathu, Wichit, Chalong, Ratsada and Patong.
The second outage, from 10pm on Monday (Mar 24) to 2am on Tuesday (Mar 25), will affect areas in Phuket Town, Koh Kaew, Ratsada, Kamala, Cherng Talay, Thepkrasattri, Srisoonthorn and Pa Khlok.
Residents and businesses are urged to store water in advance, as water pressure will be weak or nonexistent during the outages. Water may appear cloudy or contain sediment once the supply is restored.
