Ronnarong Thipsiri, formerly Inspector-General of the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), and Samawit Suphanphai both arrived on the island yesterday (Oct 21) to begin their formal duties in Phuket.
The pair separately paid home to the Buddha image in front of the new Phuket Provincial Hall on the south side of Phuket Town and the Royal Monument of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) at the current Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) complex on Narisorn Rd , which served as the official Phuket Provincial Hall for a century
Vice Governor Samawit and his wife also paid homage to the Heroines Monument and other key temples on the island.
Together Mr Ronnarong and Mr Samawit replace Norasak Suksomboon and Sattha Thongkham, who have been transferred out of the province.
Adul Chuthong remains in place as the island’s third, and now senior, Vice Governor.
