New Phuket Vice Governor arrives

PHUKET: Suwit Phansengiam arrived on the island yesterday (Mar 17) to take up his new position as a Vice Governor of Phuket.

Before starting his duties, Mr Suwit paid homage to the various sacred sites on the island.

Mr Suwit and his wife, Ms Kritsana, traveled to pay homage at the New City Pillar Shrine, statue of the Phuket Heroines at the Heroines Monument.

He and Ms Kritsana also visited and the monument of King Rama V at the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) as well as the Phra Phuttha Thamrong Ming Mueang and the ancestral shrine at the new Phuket Provincial Hall

Mr Suwit then entered his office at the new Phuket Provincial Hall on the 4th floor and officially began his duties, where he was welcomed by a host of officials.

Mr Suwit was previously an inspector of the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning.

He arrives to replace Ronnarong Thipsiri, who has been promoted to the position of Deputy Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA).
