During the visit, Pol Gen Torsak received a briefing on the deployment of the Tha Chatchai checkpoint patrol team, the results of recent operations, the implementation of the ‘Phuket Model’ database, and the enforcement of traffic discipline.
Joining the meeting were Royal Thai Police Office Commissioner-General Pol Maj Gen Pitak Uthaitham, Region 8 Police Commander Pol Lt Gen Surapong Thanomchit and Pol Col Chakkrawat Boonthawikulsawat, Region 8 Police Deputy Commander of Investigation Division, along with Phuket Provincial Police Commander Pol Maj Gen Sinlert Sukhum and Phuket Provincial Police Deputy Commanders Pol Col Akanit Danpitaksan and Pol Col Thirawat Liamsuwan.
Pol Gen Torsak emphasised the importance of providing service to both the public and tourists in a friendly, efficient and comprehensive manner, said an official report of the police chief’s visit.
He instructed officers to follow standard operating procedures (SOP) when setting up and managing checkpoints. He highlighted the need for adherence to international police tactics, stressing the importance of caution, politeness and professionalism, the report said.
Officers were also reminded to use polite language, maintain a friendly demeanour and adhere to the dress code set by the Royal Thai Police Office.
The Police Chief also underscored the importance of upholding the law with honesty and integrity. To boost morale, he distributed supplies to the officers stationed at the checkpoint, encouraging them to continue their diligent work, the report concluded.
The report made no mention of any other official duties by the national police chife while he was on the island.
