A team led by the chief security officer for Phuket district visited Thu Nge Chin Sine, located behind Public Market 1 on Bangkok Rd in Phuket Town, following complaints from local residents, reports the Bangkok Post.
Upon inspection, officials found that the eatery was staffed entirely by workers from Myanmar, with no Thai employees. All signage, menus, order slips and receipts were written in Burmese, and the customers were primarily Myanmar nationals.
Authorities arrested Zaw Min Lat, 37, and seized two food menus, 14 handwritten order slips in Burmese, which the suspect admitted writing, and Burmese-language delivery receipts.
He was charged with working outside an occupation permitted for foreigners.
The suspect and evidence were handed over to investigators at the Phuket City Police for legal proceedings.
