Patong Police began inspections of flooded areas from 8am under the direction of Patong Police Chief Pol Col Chalermchai Hirasawat, with Pol Lt Col Somporn Surin, Deputy Superintendent of Investigation, and Pol Lt Col Chamnan Trapsin, Traffic Control Inspector, leading the operation.

Officers reported floodwaters across several main intersections, including:

– The hospital intersection, where large vehicles were still able to pass;

– The Patong Hill intersection, where small vehicles could not pass due to deep water;

– In front of the Patong Police Station, where water was waiting to be drained;

– The area near the water separation field, where flooding persisted; and

‒ The fire station area, which remained under water.

Police said the high tide was slowing drainage efforts and advised motorists to use caution or avoid flooded areas where possible.

Officers and municipal workers were continuing to monitor water levels through the morning as drainage operations proceeded.

Heavy rain in other areas across the island this morning have also caused traffic delays. Police have urged motorists to exercise caution.
