Wichit Police reported that shortly after midnight on Saturday night (Dec 6), neighbours at Phuket Villa 5 housing estate, off Chao Fa West Rd, alerted officers to a man who had become aggressive in Soi 4/4, allegedly attacking people with a wooden stick and damaging several parked cars. A resident recorded the incident on video and provided it to police as evidence.

Officers soon arrived to locate and secure the man.

The man’s mother, with assistance from rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation, transported him to Vachira Phuket Hospital for medical assessment and treatment.

Police said the man later appeared calm and showed no signs of violent behaviour while in medical care.

Wichit Police said they are reviewing the video footage and assessing damage to the vehicles involved, while urging the public to report any similar incidents immediately.
