The suspect, identified only as ‘Mr Nirut’, was officially placed under arrest at Chalong Police Station, the CIB reported.

The time and date of his arrest was not reported.

The arrest follows an investigation by law enforcement into individuals with outstanding warrants in the area, explained the CIB report.

After locating Nirut in Chalong, police notified their superiors and proceeded to the scene. Officers informed the suspect of the charges and his legal rights before taking him into custody.

Nirut has been transferred to the Crime Suppression Division 2 for further investigation and legal proceedings, confirmed the CIB report.

Nirut faces charges of “jointly stealing property at nighttime with two or more people,” as well as “damaging, destroying, hiding, or rendering useless official property or evidence seized or held by authorities.” The alleged offenses were committed to assist others in evading punishment or to reduce their legal consequences.

Officers are continuing efforts to track and apprehend individuals involved in similar criminal activities as part of their crackdown on organised crime networks, the CIB report noted.
