The kind-hearted gesture to Wat Muang Mai School in Thalang was made by the Sports Photographers and Journalists Association of Thailand, whose senior members attended a special ceremony at the school on Saturday.
The ceremony was overseen by Thammawat Wongcharoenyot, President of the Phuket Sports Association, who was joined by Damrong Chaisena, Director of the Phuket office of the Sports Authority of Thailand Office, Ketsarin Ketchu, Deputy Director of the Phuket Primary Educational Service Area Office, and Sitthichai Chantawat, President of Thepkasattri Subdistrict Administrative Organisation.
Phrakhru Phattharaphon, Abbot of Wat Muang Mai, was also present at the ceremony, while representing the Sports Photographers and Journalists Association of Thailand was the organisation’s President Paitoon Chutimakornkul, who also serves in an official role as an advisor to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin.
Representatives from the Y. Yong Foundation and the Chong Ko Fah Sai Group were also in attendance, as were selected students and members of the general public.
Mr Paitoon delivered a speech before officially opening then presenting the multi-purpose sports field to the Head of Wat Muang School, Mrs Kingkamon Ellul.
A range of sporting equipment and goods sponsored by Grand Sport Group Company Limited were then handed over to representatives of the school which will be used to help develop students’ sporting abilities.
Mr Thammawat then presented certificates of honour to Mr Paitoon and members of the Sports Journalists and Photographers Association of Thailand to recognise and thank them for their kind gesture.
Following the ceremony there was a futsal competition between four teams from local schools including Wat Muang Mai School, Ban Laem Sai School, Ban Pa Khong Chip School and Ban Para School, while a live cultural and musical performance was delivered by students from Wat Muang Mai School and the 5 Network Women’s Group.
