The meeting, held at the request of the Phuket Provincial Ombudsman’s Office (Damrongdharma Office) was chaired by Phuket Vice Governor Adul Chuthong and attended by some of the residents along with representatives of a host of local government agencies.
The primary issue revolves around a section of Soi Nanachat 2 (Im Mi Phi Man), where around one kilometre of road remains unpaved, and public electricity has not been installed, explained an official report of the meeting.
Despite efforts by government agencies to provide these public utilities over the past decade, a portion of the road has remained incomplete.
The delay stems from a land dispute involving a plot with title deed number 62107, where the landowner has blocked the construction. The landowner previously dedicated some land as a public road in 2008 but now wishes to reclaim it, leaving residents without access to essential infrastructure, the report said.
During the meeting, both the affected villagers and the landowner presented their cases, with input from key agencies such as the Koh Kaew Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor), Phuket Provincial Land Office, Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority, and Mueang Phuket District Office.
The discussion concluded with a plan to clarify the land boundaries and resolve the issue. The Koh Kaew OrBorTor will work with the Phuket Provincial Land Office to conduct a thorough land survey and gather relevant evidence to ensure proper coordination and action.
Further action will be discussed once the survey is complete.
