Mr Suriyan reported multiple incidents affecting the road, including flooding, road shoulder collapses, landslips, fallen trees and broken power poles blocking traffic lanes.
In particular, the Baan Tanode to Layan section (km 12+700) experienced 20cm of flooding on the road surface. Despite the water, all types of vehicles are still able to pass, he said.
However, at km 10+800 in the Baan Layan section, the road surface and shoulder on the right side have collapsed. Additionally, at km 5+600, fallen trees and broken power poles are obstructing the roadway, Mr Suriyan explained.
“In response, the Phuket Rural Roads Office has deployed officers equipped with machinery and safety gear to clear the debris and repair the damage,” Mr Suriyan said.
Travellers have been advised to avoid the affected route until further notice. An announcement will be made once the road is safe to reopen, he added.
