In Moo 8, Thepkrasattri, Ms Busadee on Thursday (Mar 21) visited the home of Sunida Rachasamer, who suffered mental impairment after an accident. Ms Sunida suffered damage to her brain in the accident, which left her with slurred speech, difficulty walking, forgetfulness and difficulty living, said an official report of the visit.

Joining Ms Busadee for the visit were Thalang District Chief Pairoj Srilamul, local public health officials, village public health volunteers, officials from the Thepkrasattri Tambon Administrative Organisation (OrBorTor), among other officials from relevant government agencies, said the report.

Ms Busadee was reported as conducting the visit in her capacity as Chairperson of the Phuket branch of the Ministry of Interior Housewives Association. Joining her as representatives from the association’s Phuket branch were Sasithorn Putjeeb and Sudarat Kaewluan, the report noted.

However, as wife of Governor Sophon, Ms Busadee also serves as the President of the Phuket branch of the Red Cross Society of Thailand. Her role as President of the Phuket Red Cross branch, which also carries out projects to support the poor and impoverished, were not mentioned in the report.

Ms Busadee presented Ms Sunida B2,000 cash and donations of rice, dry food, chicken eggs and drinking water as initial assistance, and promised further support by coordinating with relevant agencies.

While in Moo 8, Thepkrasattri, Ms Dusadee and the delegation also visited the home of Wayu Waree, a Prathom 4 student whose father works as a garbage collector at the local municipality and whose mother has suffered a stroke, leaving her with high blood pressure and weak muscles all down the left side of her body. She can walk only by using a cane.

Ms Busadee presented the family B2,000 financial aid, two sets of school uniforms and socks, as well as rice, dry food, eggs and drinking water, and a promise to coordinate with relevant agencies to continue providing further assistance.
