The ceremony took place at the Phuket Governor’s Residence, where Phuket Vice Governor Adul Chuthong led fellow DVice Governors Samawit Suphanphai and Suwit Phansengiam, alongside heads of government agencies, government officers, local administrative organisations, private sector representatives and members of the public.

Participants took part in the ceremonial pouring of water to pay respect and seek blessings from Governor Sophon and his wife, Ms Busadee.

The event aimed to preserve and promote Thai cultural traditions while expressing respect and good wishes for the New Year, said an official report of the occasion.

Governor Sophon offered his blessings in return, extending his well-wishes for a joyful and safe Songkran.

He invoked sacred blessings, particularly from Luang Por Chaem of Wat Chalong, a revered figure in Phuket, wishing everyone happiness, prosperity, and a safe celebration of the Thai New Year.
