Accompanied by Thaneth Tantipiriyakij, President of the Phuket Tourist Association, and representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the delegation aims to strengthen business connections and attract high-value travelers to Phuket.
The trade mission is backed by the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) and provides local tourism entrepreneurs with opportunities to engage with international business partners, said an official report of the delegation.
The initiative is expected to bolster Phuket’s reputation, boost tourism revenue, and support the province’s economic growth, the report said.
The roadshow began with Pre ITB 2025, a business-to-business (B2B) event held in the UK. On Feb 25, representatives met with tourism professionals in Manchester before heading to London on Feb 26 to explore potential partnerships. The meetings aimed to establish connections with international travel agencies and attract quality tourists to the island.
The main event, ITB Berlin 2025, is being held from Mar 4-6. As the world’s largest and longest-running international tourism trade fair, ITB Berlin attracts industry professionals from across the globe.
The Phuket Tourist Association has secured an exhibition space to showcase the island’s diverse attractions, emphasising the theme of ‘High Value & Sustainability’. The strategy is designed to appeal to high-spending tourists while promoting sustainable tourism practices, the official report explained.
Adding to the event’s prestige, Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi every year visits the Thailand pavilion, further elevating the country’s tourism profile on the global stage.
Phuket’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025 underscores its commitment to expanding its reach in the European market. By fostering international collaborations and positioning itself as a sustainable luxury destination, the province aims to attract more quality visitors and sustain its tourism-driven economy, the official report concluded.
