Accompanied by Prapit Noopetch, Director of the Engineering Division at the Phuket Provincial Public Works and Town & Country Planning Office, the governor reviewed progress on the roadworks in Moo 3, Srisoonthorn.

Also present were Advisor to the Governor Somkid Chukong along with Watanapong Suksai, Director of the Phuket Natural Resources and Environment office, and other key officials.

The project involves widening the road and improving the surface to better accommodate the rising number of vehicles, and to allow for safer and more convenient travel.

The upgraded road is intended to serve as an alternative bypass connecting Phuket City to the Heroines Monument and providing a more efficient route to Phuket International Airport, said an official report of the inspection.

As part of the project, the entrance to the road is being expanded by 10 metres. This has been made possible through cooperation with the private sector, including a donation of B3.87 million from Laguna Phuket to support land acquisition and structural improvements, the report added.

Governor Sophon said the project marks an important step in addressing traffic problems across the province by creating new travel routes and reducing pressure on existing main roads.
