Phuket City Police were called to the hotel, on Phuket Rd, at 5:40pm.

The hotel owner explained that staff became concerned after the guest did not leave his room. Efforts to unlock the door using a spare key were unsuccessful, prompting Mr. Koysomboon to call the police for assistance.

Police forced entry into the room on the third floor. Inside, they discovered the man lying on the bed with severe self-inflicted injuries.

Police noted multiple cuts: one on his right arm and three on his left arm. A sharp knife was found near him, and there were bloodstains throughout the room.

Rescue workers from the Kusoldharm Foundation quickly provided emergency first aid and rushed the man to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.

Police said they had notified the French Embassy officials to contact his family regarding the incident.
