The awards were presented in a solemn and prestigious ceremony at Phuket Provincial Hall on Thursday (Nov 14), presided over by Governor Sophon.
The ceremony took place in the presence of a portrait of His Majesty the King, reflecting the significance of the royal recognition.
The four honourees were:
- Samawit Suphanphai, Vice Governor of Phuket Province
- Pairoj Srilamul, District Chief of Thalang
- Atichat Phichitsophon, former Land Officer of Phuket
- Mukda Limnukul, Development Officer of Phuket Provincial Office
The four were recognised for their dedication, integrity and exceptional contributions to their respective fields, said an official report of the event.
“The Royal Decorations of the Order of the White Elephant, First Class, were graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King in 2024 to commemorate His Majesty’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on July 28, 2024.
“This ceremony marked a special occasion, allowing the recipients to receive their decorations in a setting of great honor and reverence,” the report said.
Governor Sophon emphasised the significance of the awards, noting that they symbolise the highest level of recognition for civil servants who have played vital roles in advancing the nation’s development.
The Royal Decorations of the Order of the White Elephant are among Thailand’s most esteemed honours, awarded to individuals who demonstrate exceptional service to the country.
