Immigration officers at the airport reported that the four Afghans ‒ three men and one woman ‒ were arrested at the International Arrivals Hall at about 8:50am on Tuesday (Dec 10).
The three were taken to Sakhu Police Station to face charges of “using or possessing for use a forged passport (a forged Kazakhstan passport)”, airport immigration repored.
Of note, photos posted online by airport immigration showed five Kazakhstan passports seized, with no explanation why there was one more passport than the number of people arrested.
The arrest of the four Afghans on Tuesday followed the arrest of two Afghan men for attempting to leave the country on forged Kazakhstan passports on Monday (Dec 9).
The two men were arrested at the International Departures hall at about 11:30pm.
Airport Immigration later identified the two men as Afghan nationals Abdul Bashir Kawoskgar, 24, and Mustafa Ahadi, 20.
The men were attempting to board Bangkok Airways flight PG276 to connect to a connecting flight and fly to Milan, Italy.
