The raid, conducted just after 8pm, followed complaints from residents of Soi Mukdee in Moo 2, Rawai, who reported ongoing drug trafficking in the area. Locals told officials they feared the location had become a hub for drug use and distribution, particularly affecting children and young people.
The raid was led by Phuket Provincial Defense Officer Akkara Suwatthikul, assisted by Hiran Hidchan, members of the Volunteer Defence Corps (OrSor) and Village Headman (Phu Yai Baan) Charung Thaochan.
Upon arriving at the location, officials confirmed the reports and apprehended four male suspects. A search of the premises uncovered 251 ya bah pills and 0.55 grammes of crystal meth (ya ice).
All four suspects, along with the seized drugs, were handed over to Chalong Police Station for further legal action.
Provincial authorities said the raid formed part of ongoing efforts to enforce government and Ministry of Interior policies targeting drug offences, influential figures, and other crimes in order to strengthen community safety and maintain public order across Phuket.
