The 15-second clip, originally shared by Facebook user Earn’z Atiwat, was reportedly recorded by the tuk-tuk driver himself. In his post, he wrote, “Since you don’t respect me, I don’t respect you either. Get off and walk.’
According to the driver, he picked up the tourists in front of the Royal Paradise Hotel on Rat-U-Thit 200 Pi Rd in Patong. The pair had booked a ride to the Karon Hill Hotel in Karon. However, shortly after boarding, they began engaging in inappropriate behaviour.
Despite the driver knocking on the window to signal them to stop, they ignored his warnings. Frustrated, he decided to drop them off at the hotel entrance without driving inside and refused to collect the fare, stating they had disrespected him. Before leaving, he scolded them, emphasising that their actions were unacceptable.
The video quickly gained traction online, with netizens flooding the comments section with reactions. Some mocked the incident with jokes and laughing emojis, while others condemned the tourists for their lack of respect.
Local authorities have not commented on whether any action will be taken against the individuals involved.
