The firefighters were first called to a fire that had broken out in an abandoned area opposite Thalang Technical College. The fire had quickly spread across a large swath of land, proving difficult to control.
At the same time, the firefighters were called to another fire in Baan Mak Prok in Mai Khao.
The airport firefighters and rescue personnel, supported by local government firefighters equipped with fire trucks, worked together to contain both fires.
“Thanks to their swift action and collaboration, both fires were successfully brought under control,” reported the Phuket branch of Airports of Thailand (AoT Phuket).
Their efforts were part of a broader commitment to social responsibility and community care under the airport’s Corporate Citizenship Airport initiative, known as "AOT new way, safe, caring for the community,” the report added.
The incidents highlighted the importance of readiness and cooperation between the airport and local organisations in ensuring the safety and well-being of the surrounding community, teh report noted.
