MP Somchart, the Move Forward member for Phuket District 1, which comprises Phuket Town (Talad Yai and Talad Neua subdistricts), Koh Kaew and Ratsada, issued his warning late yesterday.
“Because it is in the dry season, the weather is hotter than usual, from 33°-40°C,” he wrote.
“May brothers and sisters in Phuket please help to be careful and work together to prevent fires. Refrain from creating sparks in areas that risk causing a fire. Check electrical appliances in the home to prevent short circuits. Be vigilant and notice smoke and fire in the house and nearby areas,” Mr Somchart said.
To report fires call 076-617803 - 4 ext. 35, Mr Somchart urged.
