Police were called to the scene, a workers’ camp in Moo 4, Srisoonthorn, belonging to Wasi M&E Co, at 8:19am.

By the time police arrived, local fire crews had already managed to bring the blaze under control.

An initial inspection revealed that around 10 small rooms at the camp were affected, with extensive damage to personal belongings and property inside.

Fortunately, no one was injured or killed, as all workers had already left for work at the time of the incident.

Investigators suspect the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. Officers from the Phuket Forensic Science Centre have been called in to conduct a detailed examination of the scene to determine the exact cause.

Police said further action will be taken following the forensic investigation.
