The ECT Phuket branch announced this morning (June 10) that the main ECT office in Bangkok had confirmed the election results as verified and validated on June 4.
ECT Phuket gave no explanation for the delay in announcing the confirmation.
In Patong, Lalita Maneesri of the Patong Creative Party secured victory and will officially take office as mayor.
In Phuket Town, Supachok Laongphet of the Rak Phuket Party will be installed as the new mayor.
Chalong Municipality sees the return of Samran Jindapol from the Chalong Kao Mai Party, who has reclaimed his seat as mayor.
In Rawai, Thames Kraitat of the Tum Tay Pattana Rawai Party, who ran unopposed, will be officially installed as mayor.
Wichit Municipality remains under the leadership of Kreetha Chotiwichpipat from the Pattana Wichit Team, who secured re-election.
In Ratsada, Jirayut Songyot of the Ko Yut Ratsada Party will be the new mayor.
Pa Khlok Municipality now has Panya Samphaorat of the Pa Klok Gao Na Party officially installed as mayor.
Mr Panya was allowed to run for re-election despite facing corruption charges.
In Cherng Talay, Sunirun Rachataphruek of the New Step Party, the sole candidate, was elected mayor. (Note: This municipality is separate from the Cherng Talay Tambon Administration Organisation, or OrBorTor, which oversees the coastal areas including Bang Tao.)
Srisoonthorn sees Chalermpon Kerdsap of the Srisoonthorn Pen Nueng Party retain his seat as mayor.
Finally, in Karon, Wallop Nadon of the Chaoban Party was elected mayor.
