The event, held at the Phuket Merlin Hotel in Phuket Town, brought together key education officials and stakeholders to align efforts with the government’s ‘Learn Well, Be Happy’ policy.
The workshop, organised under the leadership of the Provincial Education Committee, follows the ‘Join Hands and Go Together’ approach, fostering collaboration between government agencies under the Ministry of Education and local educational networks, explained an official report of the event.
The primary objective is to create a tangible impact in line with the national education reform initiative, ‘Revolutionising Education, Solving National Problems’.
In his opening remarks, Minister Phemphun emphasised the importance of developing Thai citizens of all ages with ‘Smart Knowledge, Smart Thinking, Smart Action’ ‒ a framework designed to support national growth across all sectors.
Phuket Vice Governor Samawit Suphanphai delivered a welcoming speech highlighting the significance of the workshop. Attendees included senior executives from the Ministry of Education, provincial education officers, and deputy provincial education officers from across the country.
The workshop, held from Friday through Sunday (Mar 14-16), featured discussions on integrated education management, personnel development, administrative policies, anti-corruption measures, budgeting, foreign affairs and the role of information technology in education.
Participants also engaged in brainstorming sessions to translate educational strategies into actionable plans at the regional and provincial levels. The discussions aimed to ensure alignment with the national ‘Learn Well, Be Happy’ policy, which prioritises both academic excellence and students’ overall well-being.
Following the workshop’s opening ceremony, Minister Phemphun outlined key policies and strategic directions, reinforcing the need for a collaborative education network. He stressed that education extends beyond classrooms and called for ‘educational miracles’ to develop students who are knowledgeable, critical thinkers and proactive in their learning.
Later in the day, the Minister visited Baan Ao Nam Bo School to review its teaching management and inspect the aircraft mechanics program at Thalang Technical College’s Excellent Center classroom.
