Both operations were carried out on Sunday (June 22), said an official report of the raids.
The first raid was carried out by officers from the Thalang District Office, led by Thalang District Palad (Chief Administrative Officer) Wisut Romin, joined by officers from the Narcotics Control Board and security personnel from the Volunteer Defense Corps (OrSor).
No police were present for the raid.
The suspects were caught behind Wat Tha Chatchai in Moo 5, Mai Khao, and were found in possession of 24,000 ya bah pills, three mobile phones and two trucks.
The Thalang District Office stated in a brief report that the group had transported the drugs from Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat, with the intention of selling them to distributor in Phuket.
All four were charged with possession and intent to distribute a Category 1 narcotic, as well as illegal drug use.
The case has been handed over to Tha Chatchai Police Station for further legal proceedings, the Thalang District Office said.
Later the same day, at around 5.30pm, the Phuket office of the Department of Local Administration’s Special Operations Unit, acting on a report from local residents, raided a residence on Srisoonthorn Rd in Moo 4, Srisoonthorn.
The operation, also joined by OrSor personnel and Border Patrol Police, executed a search warrant issued by the Phuket Provincial Court (No. K.155/2568).
Two male suspects were arrested with 1,073 ya bah pills , 1.72 grammes of crystal meth (ya ice), five 9mm bullets and one .38-calibre bullet), B1,340 in cash and numerous drug packaging bags.
They were faced with multiple charges, including possession and distribution of Category 1 narcotics, illegal drug use, distribution leading to community-level drug spread, and illegal possession of ammunition.
Both suspects and all evidence were taken to Phuket City Police Station for legal action.
