The crackdown, part of the ‘No Drugs, No Dealers’ campaign as carried out by the Thalang District Office, was conducted on Wednesday evening (July 30) in line with national anti-narcotics policy spearheaded by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The operation took place from 5:30pm to 9pm and was led by Chaiporn Yangchin of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), alongside security officers from the Volunteer Defense Corps (Or Sor).
Teams carried out a ‘Re-X-Ray’ sweep at known drug hotspots in Moo 4, Cherng Talay, and Moo 8, Thepkasattri.
During the raids, four individuals were found to be involved in drug use. While their identities were not disclosed, officials said records were compiled and each case would be reviewed to determine appropriate treatment and support. Investigations are also continuing in an effort to identify the dealers who supplied them.
In a separate incident during the same operation, one suspect was arrested after being found in possession of 11 methamphetamine pills (ya bah) and 2.3 grammes of crystal meth.(ya ice) The individual was handed over to police investigators for prosecution.
Officials said the operation reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen community safety and eliminate drug networks at the local level.
The ‘No Drugs, No Dealers’ campaign will continue with further coordinated raids and surveillance across Thalang District, said an official report of the raids.
