In Wichit, three men ‒ two Thai nationals and a Russian man ‒ were arrested in a condominium near a well-known shopping mall on Wednesday (July 9) after police uncovered illegal drugs and confirmed positive drug tests. The suspects were identified as ‘Mr Sirawit’ (alias Wit), 23, ‘Mr Thanakrit’, 23, and 20-year-old Russian ‘Mr Pupyshev’.

Sirawit was found in possession of 0.7g of ketamine, one ecstasy tablet bearing PRADA and G/6 logos, 0.33g of pink powder ecstasy, and drug paraphernalia. All three men tested positive for ketamine and ecstasy. They were taken to Wichit Police Station and charged with possession and use of Category 1 and 2 narcotics without legal permission.

Later that evening, Kathu District officials arrested a Thai man identified only as ‘Mr A’ in the Bang Wad Dam area. The suspect was caught with 10.27g of crystal meth across five bags and three ya bah pills. He was charged with possession, sale and use of Category 1 narcotics and transferred to Kathu Police Station for legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, in the Rawai sea gypsy community in Rawai, Mueang District officials arrested a 25-year-old woman, identified as ‘Ms B’. Officers found 71 ya bah pills in her possession, divided into seven small bags. She was taken to Chalong Police Station and charged with intent to distribute Category 1 narcotics.

A separate sting operation was also conducted in the Saphan Hin Community in Wichit. Acting on public complaints, undercover officers arrested a male suspect who was allegedly selling drugs openly in the area.

The man was caught with 1.89g of crystal meth, B1,300 in marked bills, and a PCX 150 motorcycle. He now faces charges of possession and intent to distribute a Category 1 narcotic.
