Rescue workers from the Phuket Kusoldharm Foundation were called to the scene, near Haad Silaphan, at about 11pm.
Local residents had spotted the dolphin carcass drifting in the waters near a hotel nearby.
Responding to the report, rescue workers soon located the lifeless dolphin floating on the sea’s surface.
With the help of volunteers, the carcass was retrieved using a rope and brought to shore.
The rescue workers did not report any visible injuries to the dolphin.
The remains were then transported to the Upper Andaman Sea Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center at Cape Panwa for examination to determine the cause of death.
DMCR officials have yet to release any details on potential factors that may have contributed to the dolphin’s demise.
