The ceremony took place at the Big C Phuket branch on Saturday (June 1), marking the beginning of the special initiative.
Governor Sophon presided over the event, accompanied by Mueang Phuket District Chief Worasit Putjeeb and Sophida Areesorndaeng, Manager of Big C Phuket Branch.
The pins are part of the Thai government’s efforts, through the Office of the Prime Minister, to commemorate His Majesty the King’s auspicious 72nd birthday on July 28, 2024.
The specially designed pins are available for purchase as cherished souvenirs and decorative items symbolising good fortune.
The Office of the Permanent Secretary, under the Office of the Prime Minister, has collaborated with Big C Supercenter PCL for the distribution of the pins throughhout the country.
Big C has agreed to handle the distribution without deducting any expenses, ensuring that all proceeds go to the Office of the Permanent Secretary to be presented to His Majesty the King as a royal merit.
The commemorative pins are priced at B300 each and are available at all Big C branches nationwide, including the four branches in Phuket: on the bypass road as well as in Tambon Thepkrasattri, Kamala and Patong.
