The inaugural event in 2026 will be held at Wisdom Valley in Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri province, said Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong, reports the Bangkok Post.

The ministry, which will be responsible for organising the event, has concluded details with Tomorrowland International and its Thai joint-venture partner, We Are One World (Thailand) Co Ltd, he said.

The five-year agreement to hold the festival in Thailand from 2026-30 was approved by the Cabinet on July 29.

From the total budget of B2bn approved on Tuesday (Aug 26), the government will spend B400 million on organising costs each year, Mr Sorawong said.

The government expects at least B12bn to be generated over five years by 922,500 attendees ‒ 369,000 local and 553,500 international.

Most of the income will be from ticket sales, expected to be B5.2bn, followed by sponsors (B3.5bn) and food and beverages (B1.9bn).

The 2026 event is expected to attract 50,000 people, with a potential to reach 75,000 in its final year, Mr Sorawong said.

Tomorrowland was founded by Belgian organisers Manu and Michiel Beers and held for the first time in 2005 in the town of Boom in Belgium. It has since expanded to include Tomorrowland Winter, staged annually in the French Alps, and Tomorrowland Brasil.

Thailand will be the first Asian country to hold the event in 2026.
