The event was held to coincide to celebrate International Jazz Day, observed around the world on Apr 30
Held along Soi Pradit, the event drew large crowds of Thai and international tourists, as well as local residents, all eager to soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Attendees were treated to a colourful evening of music, dance and culture, framed by the distinctive Sino-Portuguese architecture that defines the historic town centre.
The festival was made possible through the collaboration of various organisations from both the public and private sectors, including Phuket City Municipality, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Phuket Office, Phuket Tourist Association, Phuket Rajabhat University, Limelight Phuket, Express Data Co Ltd, Haad Thip Co Ltd and The Tint Hotel. Yamaha Phuket also provided musical instrument support. Jamjuree Event Co Ltd served as the main organiser.
Throughout the evening, the stage featured a lineup of acclaimed jazz performers such as the PKRU Big Band, Boy Navio, Bukit Ensemble, Acoustic Phuket, So What and the Sound Gallery Band.
A special highlight was the guest appearance by the Hat Yai Ensemble from the Hat Yai Jazz Festival.
Adding to the festive spirit, swing dance troupes from leading institutes ‒ including South Time, Ongsa Studio, Summer Set, PIDA and A Little Club ‒ dazzled the audience with lively performances.
Organisers expressed their gratitude to the sponsors, artists, production teams and attendees for contributing to the event’s success and said they look forward to welcoming everyone back for another celebration next year.
