Local residents reported the antics of the British tourists to the 191 police hotline at 1:04am on Thursday (Nov 7), Chalong Police reported yesterday (Nov 9).

Police were told that a group of foreign men were driving recklessly on Khok San Rd toward Saiyuan Rd.

Witnesses reported the loud revving of engines and disruptive driving that inconvenienced nearby residents.

By Friday (Nov 8), Chalong Police had tracked down the group of nine Brits, who had rented motorbikes in Patong.

“They were therefore invited to meet with the investigation officer to proceed with legal action,” said the notice by Chalong Police.

The nine were brought in to acknowledge charges related to public disturbance and dangerous driving.

Police inspected the personal documents of each man and verified the registration papers for their motorcycles, Chalong Police added.

Following the investigation, officers issued fines to each individual and recorded their details for future reference, Chalong Police confirmed.
