The event was officiated by the British Ambassador to Thailand, Mr. Mark Gooding OBE, and attended by members of the BISP leadership team, students, parents, teachers, and invited guests. The ceremony included a welcome and keynote address from the BISP Head of School, Mr. Simon Meredith, and remarks from the Ambassador as he began his tour of Thailand, celebrating 170 years of the UK-Thailand diplomatic relationship. A symbolic ribbon-cutting took place to mark the centre’s official launch, after which guests toured the new Innovation spaces.

At BISP, innovation is not a buzzword or a standalone subject—it’s a mindset we aim to foster in every classroom, in every lesson, and in every student.”, said Simon Meredith, Head of School. “We believe that preparing our students for the future means encouraging them to be adaptable, curious, and courageous problem-solvers—ready to embrace challenges and create opportunities.”
The BISP Innovation Hub is more than a new building—it represents a shift in how students engage with learning. The centre brings together Design Technology, Computer Science, and Art & Design under one roof, while offering flexible, stimulating spaces for all students and teachers to use across disciplines. The facility promotes learning beyond the traditional classroom, where innovation is viewed not as a separate subject but as a mindset embedded across the curriculum.
As Steve Jobs once said, "Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower." BISP wants its students to be the leaders of tomorrow, and this is a step toward that vision.
The BISP Innovation Hub will serve as a catalyst for inspiring learners to think differently, collaborate meaningfully, and solve problems with purpose, values at the heart of the school’s educational approach.
As a former teacher himself,Mr. Mark Gooding OBE shared his interest in seeing the latest developments in education in teaching technology and remarked that the BISP Innovation Hub is a real example of why BISP is a leading educational establishment in Phuket in Thailand and globally.
