The man is accused of selling drugs to tourists.
Officers from the Karon Police moved in and arrested British national Stephen Mullady, 45, at a rented room on the second floor above the ‘Just a Puff’ shop on Taina Rd at about 6:30pm last night (Mar 18).
Police noted in their report that the raid followed a tip-off that foreigners often gathered at the room.
In the room, officers seized one plastic bag containing 0.18 gramme of crystal meth, and four small plastic bags containing 0.44g, 0.35g, 0.65g and 0.98g of cocaine.
Officers also seized three digital weighing scales, 104 clear plastic bags and a mobile phone.
Mullardy was taken to Karon Police Station, where he tested positive for methamphetamine use.
Mullardy was fully informed of his rights, police noted.
He denied the charge of illegal possession of a Category 2 narcotic (cocaine) with intent to sell, but confessed to the charges of illegal possession and illegal use of a Category 1 narcotic (ya ice) without permission, police noted.
