The deceased was confirmed as Jessadawut ‘Nong Bass’ Hom from Pa Khlok. His body was recovered by officers from the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation and brought ashore with the support of Thalang Police, forensic doctors from Vachira Phuket Hospital and his family.

Mr Jessadawut’s relatives formally identified his body and raised no suspicion regarding the cause of death. They requested to take him for religious burial at the mosque in Baan Para, Pa Khlok.

The young man was reported missing at 7:10pm on Sunday after falling into the sea while operating a jet-ski near Koh Naka Yai, off Phuket’s east coast. He was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident.

Mr Jessadawut was employed by Kai Naka Co Ltd, and the accident occurred during the course of his work. Warisara Muthametharit, who witnessed the incident, immediately contacted Thalang Police, prompting a multi-agency search effort involving marine rescue units and divers.

A search centre had been established at the scene, with operations coordinated by Thalang Police and supported by Cherng Talay Police and provincial authorities.

Thalang Police Chief Pol Col Nikorn Chuathong confirmed the case remains under investigation, with Pol Lt Col Anukul Nuket and Pol Lt Col Warawut Seb Sob leading the inquiry. From Cherng Talay Police, Pol Col Ekkarat Phlaiduang and Pol Lt Col Kittipong Nupheng are also involved in the investigation.

Authorities have reiterated calls for all marine tourism operators and beachgoers to prioritise safety, especially during the southwest monsoon season when sea conditions can be hazardous. Tourists and workers are reminded to always wear life jackets when engaging in water activities.
