Blood stocks in Phuket remain at critically low level due to an increasing number of road accidents. As of Mar 30, the province recorded 52 road deaths since the start of the year compared to 33 in the first quarter of 2023.
Phuket hospitals are in dire need of all types of blood for transfusions. Thus all donors are welcome, though Rh-negative donors are in the highest demand.
Yesterday (Mar 29) the Phuket Regional Blood Center made an urgent call for donors to step up to help replenish the reserves of blood for transfusions. In total 54 units were received during the event at Central Floresta.
The mobile blood donation clinic schedule for April is as follows:
