A total of 112 teams competed in the two-day tournament at the school’s campus in Koh Kaew, including squads from Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea, India, China, the Philippines and Vietnam.
The 2023 BISP Soccer 7s was a treat for football enthusiasts as a staggering 376 games were played across the two days with a total 1,190 goals scored – a healthy average of three goals per game.
The weather Gods were kind as favourable conditions meant plenty of engaging play on the field, with a whole range of off-field activities on hand to keep spectators and non-active teams entertained.
In addition to a variety of food stalls offering delicious cuisine, there was also musical entertainment, aerial performances and a host of interactive virtual reality (VR) games, with the latter blending technology with sportsmanship to provide participants a truly immersive gaming experience.
For many of the players and teams involved, it was their first involvement with the BISP Soccer 7s and the feedback was universally popular, emphasising what the whole BISP community is capable of providing when it pulls together.
