His two rounds of 79,76 were enough to win by two shots over the two day event. This was a great achievement and added to his success at the Blue Canyon Club Championship earlier in the year. At only 14 years old, he is the first player in history to be the Men's Club Champion of both famous courses.
Head Coach of BISP’s Golf Academy, Oliver Bates, commented, “We have seen Sebastian really mature as a person and a player over the last year, he has worked so hard on his game and is starting to see the results. He is popular with everyone and it's great to see him in the winner's circle again. Over the next year, once through his growth spurt, we will work very hard on his bio mechanics and strength and conditioning and I'm sure he will push on to higher levels of the game.”
Congratulations also to Year 6 BISP student, Damon Dongwook who took 2nd place in the junior division and to Dominic and Olive Judge who both gained valuable tournament experience.
At the TJGGA Optimist Junior Golf Club Qualifying Tournament at the Grand Prix Golf Club, Bangkok, BISP golfer Filip Arnesten produced a great 2nd round of 76 to finish 2nd at the Grand Prix Golf Club. Noted Coach Oliver, “With no caddy, this was a great experience for the 11 year old who has now qualified for the next stage of the event. Filip is a naturally talented player for his age, is very mature and hits the ball a long way. He's definitely one to watch for the future. We are very pleased with his progress this year and it's only a matter of time before we see Filip in the winners circle.”
Finally, Toy (Napat) Paramacharoenroj was off to the Faldo Asian Final in Vietnam this week to defend his title at Lang.co, Laguna Golf Club. BISP wishes Toy the best of luck.
