The ceremony, held at 11am, was presided over by Phuket Vice Governor Teeraphong Chuaychoo. He was joined by Thalang District Chief Siwat Rawangkun, government officials, local administrators, village leaders, 904 Royal Volunteers and members of the public.

The activity, themed ‘Volunteer Development – Release Aquatic Animals’, aimed to restore coastal natural resources and help preserve Phuket’s marine ecosystem for future generations.

In his remarks, Vice Governor Teeraphong expressed gratitude for the enduring royal benevolence of His Majesty King Bhumibol, noting that the ‘We Do Good Deeds with Our Hearts’ royal volunteer initiative has long encouraged Thais from all backgrounds to unite in performing public service for the greater good.

The project, he said, continues to strengthen the bonds between the nation, religion, monarchy and the people.

He added that the Phuket Provincial Office remains committed to upholding the King’s royal aspirations with loyalty and determination, continuously working to benefit both the nation and its citizens.

Following the speeches, officials and volunteers released aquatic animals into the coastal waters adjacent to the research centre, fulfilling the event’s conservation objectives while offering merit and tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.

The event highlighted the strong community spirit in Phuket, with residents joining together in volunteer service to honour the late King on this important national day, noted an official report of the event.
